Day1: Arrival Addis Ababa
On arrival at Bole international airport, you meet our staff and will be transfered to the hotel (if night arrival in Addis Ababa).
Day2: Addis to Bahir Dar
Am drive to D/markos along the rolling plains of shoa. Visit 13th century monastery of D/Libanos and 16th century Portuguese bridge; where chelada baboon scerend.Enjoy the fascinating scenery of Blue Nile gorge (1000meters deep).Proceed via the rollinig plains of Gojjam. Overnight hotel.
Day 3: Full day Bahir Dar
Am drive to the dramatic Blue Nile fall (400 meters length & 50 meters deep).Back to the town for lunch & pm boat trip on lake Tana for the 14th island monasteries,like Ura kidanemeheret,Kiberan Gebreil(not allowed for women),and Azwa Mariam. Overnight hotel.
Day 4: B/Dar to Gonder
Morning drive to Gonder (180 kms).This historical town was the capital of Ethiopia in the 17th _18th century.Visit the castle of Emperor Fasiledes and palaces of Bekaffa,Tsadiku Yohannes,Adiam Seged Iyassu & Emress Mentwab.Visit D/Berhan Selassie,very impressive Biblical mural paintings. Overnight hotel.
Day 5: Gonder to Simen national park
AM drive from Gonder to Simen national park via Debark,en route visit the Fallasha village.Stay over night hotel/lodge.
Day 6: Excursion Simen Park
Full day excursion of Simen park to admire the fascinating landscape,the endemic Chelada baboon,Walia Ibex and the Ethiopian Wolf (if you get lucky).Likewise enjoy the endemic plants such as;giant Lobilia Abissinian rose,and others.Over night hotel/lodge.
Day 7: Simen National Park to Axum
Full day drive from Simen mountains National Park to Axum via Shire. Enjoy the panoramic view of the northern mountains. Overnight hotel
Day 8: Full day Axum
Axum is not only the source and seat of the ancient Ethiopian civilization but it is also the holiest place of Ethiopian Orthodox Christianity.The churchs and monasteries of Axum are endowed with icons, coins and historical crowns of ancient Emperors. AM visit the legenday bathe of Queen Sheba, graves of king Kaleb and Geber Mesekel & the stele park.PM visit the 16th_century chatedral of St Marry of Zion was probably built on an earlier 4th_century church. In its sanctuary the original Ark of the Covenant is guarded. Stay overnight hotel
Day 9: Axum to Gheralta cluster rock hewn churches
Morning drive to Gheralta lodge.En route visit the 5th century Temple of Yeha (the birth place of Ethiopia’s earliest civilizations).Visit Debre Damo monastery built during Axumit periods.Stay over night hotel/lodge.
Day 10: Full day Gheralta
Full day visit of Gheralta cluster rock hewn churches.AM visit the churches of Marriam Korekor & Abune Daniel.PM visit Dugum Selassie churche. Overnight hotel/ lodge.
Day 11: Gheralta to Mekelle
AM drive to Mekelle,en route visit some of other Gheralta cluster rock churches such as; the 4th _century ,Abraha Atsebaha and wukro cherkose. Over night hotel.
Day 12: Mekelle to Lalibela
Full day drive to Lalibela visit village en route. Overnight Tukul village hotel.
Day 13: Full day excursion Lalibela The 12th _century, 11 Rock_Hewn churches of saint Lalibela are peerless both for their architectural magnificence and as enduring testaments of their rich legacy of the churche.The structures are superb and staggering that tradition holds even angles are said to have taken part in the construction of the edifices. The angels believed to have performed miracles during the night.
